Exploring the northernmost reaches of the Highlands in Hogwarts Legacy brings players to the misty landscapes of the North Ford Bog. This quiet region contains four distinct Merlin Trials that test your spellwork, spatial awareness, and agility. Completing these environmental puzzles expands your gear storage capacity, making them essential stops for any dedicated adventurer.

Destroying Stone Pillars near North Ford Bog

Located just east of the North Ford Bog fast travel point, one trial requires players to locate and shatter five stone pillars. Casting Revelio highlights these target pillars in blue so you can easily spot them along the surrounding cliffs. Three of the pillars are hidden behind thick vines that must first be burned away using Confringo or Incendio. Once exposed, hit each pillar with a damaging spell to collapse them and finish the challenge.

Flipping Symbol Pillars near San Bakar's Tower

Heading toward the eastern area near San Bakar's Tower reveals a trial centered around symbol-matching blocks. Clear out any nearby Inferi enemies first so you can focus on solving the puzzle without interruption. Use the Flipendo spell on the top block of each stack until its icons align perfectly with the base. Aligning all three stone pillars finishes the trial and rewards your efforts.

Rolling the Boulder in the Southeastern Bog

In the southeastern sector of the bog, adventurers will encounter a large stone sphere positioned on a hilltop above a recessed hole. You will need to clear away thick overgrown vines covering the target hole before moving the object. Use Depulso or Accio to guide the heavy stone down the slope until it settles into the divot. Once the boulder securely locks into place, the magical vines bloom to confirm your completion.

Mastering the Jumping Platforms at Pitt-Upon-Ford

The final trial in the region is situated right near the settlement of Pitt-Upon-Ford. To clear this challenge, players must leap across a sequence of stone pillars without stepping onto the surrounding ground. Carefully time your leaps from platform to platform until every stone lights up with green moss. Alternatively, players can use their broomstick to gently skim over each platform surface for a quick solution.
